Hi there! Thank you for your interest!! I am Tonya S. I love to teach, write, learn, and bring people together. I excel at teaching the five-paragraph essay to middle school and above age groups.
I truly believe in working smarter, not harder. With a firm grasp of a five-paragraph essay, a student can conquer many writing assignments in secondary education as well as higher education.
I have a Master of Arts in Teaching as well as a Bachelor of Arts in English. My master's degree is from Western Carolina University, and my bachelor's is from the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma. I am also a veteran.
I am passionate about working with students and enriching their lives through writing, I believe that writing is something that can heal the soul. I have taught English Composition at the University of Oklahoma and Redlands Community College.
I have been tutoring and mentoring other students since I was in kindergarten. I excel at tutoring in writing, English, and language arts, as well as grammar and composition.
I approach learning not thru a standardized lesson plan but thru customized lesson plans written for the specific student I am tutoring. I meet the student where they are at and work from there. If you like a holistic approach to learning, I'm your girl.

I'm a sports fanatic. I can sit down all day on Saturdays and Sundays, glued to the tv, during football season. Throughout the week, you will find me watching the WNBA, NBA or college basketball and softball. The OKC Thunder are my favorite sports team. I'm an avid billiards player, and in my spare time, I play in local tournaments and leagues. I love to teach and bring people together. I also spend my free time writing poetry, creating pottery, and playing the guitar and piano.
