I love teaching science! I have been teaching mostly environmental and horticultural science for the last fifteen years. What is my favorite science? Well that's why I studied environmental science because I love learning everything about our planet and the way it works...and everything works together! I am passionate about sharing this knowledge and excited to work with young wondering minds in this exploration. My background allows me to explore topics that have meaning in our everyday life. I feel going forward, this is important as we learn how to better take care of our world.
As a teacher I ask lots of questions! I believe that true understanding comes from the learner. By naming their own understanding, through socratic inquiry, the learner is owning their knowledge. Succinctly, the learner finds the answer themselves. I hope to have the opportunity to share my enthusiasm and knowledge of science with your student soon.

Anything outside! Love spending time in the mountains hiking, looking for plants, and salamanders! Kayaking in our local rivers, lakes. Walking and playing with my dog Jackson and traveling as much as I can! I love being in the garden and growing food and flowers. I also enjoy listening to live music, reading, writing, and even dancing on occasion. I enjoy working in my community through church and other groups. I am an advocate for children, animals, mental health, and environmental issues.
