Certified Tutor

I'm sure many of you have heard the phrase "You'll need math in your lives." It may seem merely repetitive at first, but as I gradually developed my interest for math, little did I know the symbolism within that phrase has risen. To some, one's inspiration could be their parents, singer, or a politician. For me, my math teacher is my greatest inspiration. There are 3 magical words that he has spoken that have been engraved in my head: "Math is life." Eventually, I understood what he meant. Life will be filled with problems but along with that will be solutions. Anyone can find their way out of puzzling situations just like how one can solve a complex math problem. With that powerful motto stuck in my head, I've developed an interest in tutoring. Starting freshman year of highschool, I have been tutoring kids ages 5-14 in math subjects in a program called A Grade Ahead. I've created engaging lesson plans while also answering any questions they have on the material they have learnt. I aim to enhance students' problem solving skills and maximize their learning potential. Throughout the learning experience, I have also gained communication skills to help the profound students understand the material while also encouraging them to realize how fun learning could be. For me, it is important to not only educate the students but connect with them as well. If there is stronger communication between a tutor and a student, there will be less difficulties for the student. At the end of the day, I strive to make sure the students leave with all their questions answered.
