Certified Tutor

My heart belongs to writing and the humanities. I have been fascinated by history and story telling since I was a kid. When I attended UT Austin, I quickly decided to study political science and philosophy. After my first year, I was encouraged to tutor writing at the University Writing Center. I spent two and a half years tutoring my peers on their research papers, their personal statements and their business proposals. I have edited essays from each and every subject you can find on a college campus. I am confident focusing on any aspect of a paper. This includes nitty gritty elements of writing style (syntax, grammar, sentence styling) as well as big picture story ideas (organization, main idea, and flow). I believe in connecting with students to understand how they learn best. I feel deep gratification from understanding someone's perspective and using that to make their writing process stronger. In addition to tutoring writing, I have experience in tutoring English as a Second Language as well as English Literature. In general, teaching will always mean a lot to me and I hope to do it for most of my life.

Outside of tutoring, I am very passionate about dance. I use any spare time I have on physical conditioning and movement. In addition, this year I have become interested in software engineering. As I master coding in several languages, I am keenly aware of how I can include this skillset in my tutoring down the line. I look forward to connecting with students on several subjects and helping them in any way I can. I hope that my love for learning remains infectious and keeps my students motivated and engaged.
