Since a young person I remember being fascinated by everything science. I played in nature everyday all day, exploring and analyzing everything from the soil my grandfather would grow his tomatoes in, to the morning dew that settled on my mother's flowers. I was so curious! My favorite words were"why" and "how." But what I loved more than anything is sharing the new things that I had learned to anyone who would listen. I always knew I would be a Science Educator.
I have had the pleasure of supporting, tutoring, and teaching students with a wide range of academic and behavior levels, and demographics for 5 years. From high performing to low performing, autistic, hearing and speech impediments, and an array of emotional and mental health issues. My experience in a public title one school was interesting to say the least, and it prepared me for this big world of education.
Becoming a grade level team leader, and being trained and working as an AVID enrichment teacher was a proud moment of success, only after being a teacher for two years. But, it was wining educational grant money, so that all of my students could engage in three hands on projects, that solidified my desire to teach, inspire, and encourage students to want to learn.
It is my belief that everyone can learn and deserves the opportunity to explore, discover, and understand themselves and the world they live in. It is my goal to share my skills and talents as a teacher to inspire, motivate, and encourage students to be at their personal best academically and socially.
