As a student, I was bored and rarely did my educational experiences feel relevant to me and the plans I had for my life. Now, as an experienced English educator for the past 13 years, I focus first on getting to know the people I'm working with, and tailoring your learning experience to you (your interests, personality, goals, unique learning style...) so what you're learning feels relevant and interesting! I will never just assign you reading comprehension questions. Nor will I ask you to write a 5-paragraph essay about what you did over the summer (BORING!). Instead, I work with students to grow their language arts skills- writing, reading comprehension, grammar, and oration. I have a Bachelor of Arts degree in English, a Bachelor of Science degree in Secondary Education, and a Masters degree in Education. I'm currently pursuing a second Masters degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. When I'm not teaching, I love spending time with my husband and daughter, baking, hiking, and working on my headstand in yoga!
