I am very happy with our experience so far with Varsity Tutors. They matched my daughter with reading specialist Mary and she is wonderful! My 10 year old daughter feels happy after her sessions and believes her tutor has already helped her.

Certified Tutor

I am professional freelance saxophonist, singer and bass player based in Las Vegas. Some the artists I've played with are Trace Adkins, Boyz II Men, Al Jardine (of the Beach Boys) and Grammy nominated jazz singer Clint Holmes, and I'm the bandleader for comedian/impressionist Frank Caliendo. In addition to performing around the U.S., I am the music mentor for Opportunity Village, a non-profit that serves adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
I studied Acting and Musical Theater at the Pacific Conservatory of the Performing Arts, graduating 1992. I studied jazz performance at Santa Barbara City College, and saxophone and voice with several prominent private teachers in California.
I believe music can be a rewarding and enriching pursuit, whether it is done professionally or as a hobby. Music engages the whole person, allowing them to tap into and express the entire range of human emotion and can be a tool of great empathy and communication. When a student connects with their instrument, voice or piece of music, it can be a transformative experience. Those moments of transformation are what I look for in my own career and what I want for the people I teach.
