I teach by the belief that learning ought to be engaging and evidence-based. I graduated from Berea College Cum Laude, majoring in English & Exercise Science. After Peace Corps and years working as a University professor in China, I graduated with a Master's in Medicine, majoring in Acupuncture and Tuina. I have 7 years of exeperience teaching primary through postgraduate ESL, and I also have two years of experience teaching Mandarin Chinese to foreign students in preparation for passing the HSK: China's Chinese language test for college admittance. I am a published academic writer in both Chinese and English. As such, I blend academic knowledge and evidence-based teaching methodologies with engaging, fun activities when teaching.

I enjoy leisure and recreation as much as anyone. Specifically, I like to write and read both prose and poetry. Exercise has become a regular part of my life. Other than that, I take leisure in video games and movies. I'm a big RPG-fantasy fan.
