I am currently pursuing my bachelors in English at the University of New York at New Paltz. After tutoring my younger family members and high school and college peers in reading and writing, I became engrossed in the process of teaching and helping others become more fluent readers and writers. The subject of English offers the most flexibility in allowing students to find their own path through the many genres of literature.
Through my rigorous studies at university, I have covered a very wide range of genres and practices: British and American Literature, Diasporic and Multiethnic Literature, Contemporary Literary Theory, The Beets, Shakespeare, as well as many courses in applying critical practices in literature. Through my studies, I have developed a passion for science fiction and the nonhuman turn; specifically, applying an Object Oriented Ontology to any text that presents a wide range of new, innovative thoughts and practices. Studying English is something that excites me; my goal is to obtain my masters in English Education and teach. I would love to extend my reading and writing skills to you while also potentially igniting an interest in influential literature.
