Computer science is an amazing passion of mine. Connecting people across the world with a universal medium is the future and by partaking in the subject of computer science you are actively aiding in the goal of helping others. I teach by understanding each student. Everyone learns in their own unique way and the goal of a teacher is to find out what strategy works best. I have taught people from the age of my youngest brother 12 to people the age of 92, and the consistent part that I have found is everyone wants to learn and know more ,thus it is the job of the teacher to find out how to bring about their learning. As far as Computer science and programming goes I have had a long journey to get where I am now. I started out with a less than ideal situation, with learning programming from a first time teacher who was not qualified in the subject resulting in a poor reception to the class. I didn't give up despite the poor score I revived on the AP comp sci A exam I decided to continue in my efforts to learn and grow in the subject. I dedicated hours of my personal time working on self driven projects that expanded my knowledge of code. This paired with my acceptance to the University of South Carolina's Computing and Engineering department helped concrete my passion for computer programming and computer systems alongside the passion to teach others so that they avoid the initial hurdles I dealt with.
