Certified Tutor

I have been helping others measurably improve their writing, standardized test scores, public speaking, and mastery of history and economics since high school. In 2020 I graduate with a B.A. in economics from Yale College in New Haven, CT. Before college, I tutored classmates in essay writing with techniques I learned at a Brown University seminar on peer-editing and at the New England Young Writers Conference. At Yale, I have taken 8 writing-intensive courses in addition to my economics major, extensively peer-edited my classmates work and competed nationally as a member of the Yale Debate Association.

Enabling students to realize their potential matters to me on a basic level. I wholeheartedly believe that every subject matter area and discipline in which I tutor students is teachable. With the right technique and with smart practice, mastery is within everyone's reach.

I rely on best-in-class techniques for standardized test preparation. I help students develop an appropriate concept of the test as a game with rules that make it beatable. My algorithmic approach equips students with a set of basic techniques to employ during the test, improving their confidence and maximizing the results of their practice. Finally, I help students design a realistic practice regime.

Transforming the ACT and the SAT from mysterious and intimidating mazes into games means students take greater satisfaction from daily practice. When they do take the test, they will recognize familiar elements from their practice and and confidently execute the moves they have mastered.

Writing is a skill. Luckily, skills can be taught. But they can only be mastered with practice. My job is to help students express their ideas clearly, precisely, and stylishly. Because I sometimes found academic writing challenging early in college, I have collected an extensive library of techniques that help me write to deadlines. I have 8 years of experience helping my peers improve the clarity and grace of their writing. I aim to enable my students to express their own ideas and to learn to love writing.

Please reach out with any questions! I look forward to hearing from you.
