I am a native Mandarin speaker who is a recent graduate from University of Oregon and has two MA Degrees respectively in Psychology and Education and Language Teaching Studies. With my
multiple course designing and teaching experiences, I have confidence in my ability to become an excellent language teacher.

I have designed and taught Mandarin courses to college and secondary school students at different levels in Eugene, Oregon for a year. Before stepping into this role, I was well-prepared through professional training in the MA Language Teaching Studies program at University of Oregon. I have learned to recognize the importance of social context, identity, and agency in language use, and to utilize pedagogical methodologies and curricula that align with current research and theory. I have also developed a thematic course design with authentic materials and applied it to my teaching in real classes.

Being a passionate teacher, I have taken the opportunity to teach Mandarin courses to a wide variety of students. At University of Oregon, I worked as a Mandarin instructor to teach college students in Yamada Language Center. I designed and taught a ten-week Mandarin course which included a final project, authentic and teacher-created materials, and various interesting activities such as mini-scenarios. Besides, at Oak Hill School, I designed and taught Mandarin courses to the ninth- and eleventh-grade students for over a year. I planned learner-centered lessons and provided the students with one-to-one and group instruction.
