There is a great sense of freedom and empowerment that comes from grasping a new concept, solving a tough problem, or articulating your thoughts effectively. I love the individualized level of teaching that happens in a tutor format. My training in multi-sensory curriculums for teaching reading and writing helps me connect with students all along the literacy spectrum. I help my students adopt a growth mindset - understanding that any time they work through something hard, they are learning and growing their brains and abilities! I work to make lessons fun and relevant and always aim for students to have a smile at the end of each session.
