My love for tutoring and investing in younger students truly developed when I was a college student. I evolved from being the freshman who wished they had more individual support with coursework, to the senior who was serving as a Teaching Assistant. I quickly learned the need for tutors who were dedicated, caring, and personal when I felt as if I needed that support but could not find it. My senior year of college I had the opportunity to assist a college professor as an Undergraduate Teaching Assistant for Analytical Geometry and Calculus I. Through this opportunity, I attended all lectures and during each class assisted students with working out problems. I guided students while they learned to practice the Calculus concepts and also provided advice for studying tactics and learning development.
I also had the opportunity to serve as a private Calculus tutor and loved this experience. I enjoyed being able to develop a real relationship with my student. I cared about her success in the course, the development of her studying skills, and her academic success beyond this class. Tutoring has become something I deeply enjoy. I love being able to invest in students and see them progress in their academics along the way.
My desire to work as a dynamic and encouraging tutor drives me to help students pursue progress while building intentional relationships. I am easily able to assess situations with students and help them problem solve. I am a results-oriented worker that enthusiastically takes initiative and strives for my students to grow and succeed.
