Certified Tutor

Hello, I am a senior at St. Thomas Aquinas College. I am currently working towards an undergrad in mathematics. I have 3 years experience of tutoring. I tutored the middle school grades for 1 year, I have worked the previous two years as math, english, and sociology tutor at my college. Although my favorite subject to tutor is math. Before I switched my major to math, I was pursuing a degree in math elementary education. To be in this major you must observe classes in your particular area of study. I have observed all different kinds of teachers, and was allowed help the kids with their works, and give them more one on one help. My teaching style is that anyone can learn, when given the right help. I try my best to help kids of all different backgrounds and skill level. I am very good at scaffolding as we go along. Then slowly removing the help until they're doing it by themselves. Other than tutoring, I have several different kinds of hobbies. These include playing with my dogs, going on hikes, doing yoga, reading, drawing, and just being outdoors. I am confident in my abilities due to all of the recent experiences I've had over these three years. I can work with large groups and one on one, and still make sure that each one of them is learning to the best of their abilities, and given the help they need. I love tutoring and I am very excited to provide help; and show the kids that they can do anything, even math.
