Hi,
My name is Allison Herrera and I look forward to working with each student and family with whom I have the opportunity to serve. I earned my BSeE through University of Phoenix online program. I also have had the opportunity to complete my student teaching in a local charter school, and I was a substitute teacher for pre-k through 12th grade for the charter and public schools in my district for 2 years and currently teach 1st grade in public school. I also have four of my own children spaced in elementary, middle and high school. I absolutely love working with kids of all ages and watching as they learn something new and grasp concepts that were once difficult to understand. I cannot wait to help you (or your learner) regain the confidence achievable to succeed in school :)

I have included my teaching philosophy for your review as well:

I believe that every student can learn. I believe that children learn in different ways and at different times, but they all have the ability to learn what is placed before them. I also believe that it is up to me as their teacher to find the way in which each individual learns the best so that I can help each child reach his/her full potential. I believe that kids need to build confidence and be praised for the positive accomplishments they make so that they know what is expected and continue to grow and try in areas that are conducive to personal growth as a student and as a citizen of a community. I believe in the statement that the children of today are the leaders of tomorrow, and in such they should be given every opportunity to learn what they can by asking questions and receiving answers.
