Certified Tutor

My name is Dr. Kehinde Lawal. I received my Masters in Healthcare Administration from Bellevue University in Nebraska and later went on and received my Doctorate in Healthcare Management and Leadership from California Intercontinental University in California. Because I like to teach, and my ultimate goal of teaching is to help student to understand the topic and develop interest in pursuing academics goals, I completed the Teaching in Higher Education training program at Humboldt State University and received my Certificate in Faculty Preparation.
Prior to my first teaching assignment, I engaged in student teaching internship programs. The teaching internship program enabled me to teach undergraduate students various business management subjects such as the ones listed at my Varsity Tutor home page and other business subjects. Teaching undergraduate students at the colleges gave me a head start in the teaching careers. Prior to receiving business degrees, I received my Bachelors & Masters of Science in Medical Laboratory Technology and became certified and Licensed by the American Medical Technologist in Illinois. My prior education and practice in Clinical Laboratory and my teaching skills enabled me to teach undergraduate students medical science subjects.
My teaching philosophy and learning values revolves around active learning. I am very committed to providing a learning environment that is both exciting and rigorous, one that enhances the ability of both the student and teacher to pursue learning. I use various assessment strategies that enable me to assess student cognitive function regardless of the student learning styles. I consider what the student wants to learn, how well they are performing with gaining the knowledge, and what needs to be improved. Outside academia, I like to play volleyball and read books.
