Certified Tutor

I have been working in elementary and primary education for the past 12 years as an educator, director, administrator, head of school, mentor, and coach. I primarily teach and tutor with am emphasis on the Montessori method, were I use materials for all subject areas: math, language, geography, culture, etc.
Children have an intrinsic desire and need to learn ALL things; it is up to us as their adults to teach them; Children have what is called, 'sensitive periods'; this is when children are most respective to learning and taking on more information.
Children learn through hands on experience, through movement, repetition, singing, rhyming. I teach children with materials they can hold, manipulate, move; in order for them to get a mentally concrete understanding of the subjects they are working on.
My favorite part about tutoring/teaching are the 'aha' moments, and the excitement they get when they finally understand a concept.
