I am a graduate of the University of Guyana and Phoenix University. I received my Bachelor of Arts in Economics and my Master of Arts in Education with a focus on elementary education. After I graduated with my first degree I felt a strong desire to teach. Acting on that desire I now have more than nine years of teaching and tutoring experience in schools which had over 90% of their students on free or reduced-price lunch program.
I am always in awe at the amount of learning that takes place in a small group whether it is math or guided reading. My first experience with Strategic Teaching and Evaluation of Progress (STEP) was a great accomplishment. It was an awesome feeling to see a student move from one step to another and get closer to reading proficiency. Thus, it is my responsibility to provide that engaging learning atmosphere that will help students help themselves and become great problem solvers and critical thinkers.
In my spare time, I run and read lots of health articles.
