I first encountered tutoring my freshman year of college; after I took my placement test, the proctor pulled me aside and suggested I tutor. I quickly fell in love with tutoring/teaching because it was like I could finally use the skills and concepts that I have learned to help others. In my freshman and sophomore years, I tutored both one-on-one and in a walk in lab. The next year, I transferred to a four year school and got asked to be an adjunct teacher where I was once a tutor. Through these experiences I have encountered a diverse demographic of people and developed tutoring and teaching methods that have proven success. My two main focuses are working with students to learn their struggles and help them unlock their full potential and being reactive by reading verbal and non-verbal communication to ensure full understanding of the material.
I have a diverse background which includes academics, sports, music, and other hobbies. Having all of these different experiences allow me to reach students from many different perspectives and ultimately allow me to help them master the skills they need to succeed.
