Hello, my name is Mike McCord and I am recent graduate from Michigan State University with a BS in actuarial science. Actuarial science is a math degree that applies mathematical and statistical methods to assess risk in insurance, finance and other industries and professions. I have taken every math class you can think of, from calculus 1 to linear algebra with proofs. I also apply this math on a daily basis when studying for my SOA exams. SOA exams are considered very difficult and require a high degree of knowledge and experience in calculus, statistics and probability. I would enjoy to pass this knowledge on to other students to help them get ahead in school and be able to do well in their math courses.
