Certified Tutor

I am a graduate of Evangel University. I received my Associate of Arts in Leadership and my Bachelor of Arts in English with a minor in French. During and since my college career, I have had multiple opportunities to travel to study, for pleasure, and to work. During my time in university and my internship at the Jacques Lefevre Institute in France, I had wonderful opportunities to tutor the students around me. While in school, I was able to tutor Old English, French, grammar, and basic composition. Later, my internship gave me the chance to spend time speaking with and tutoring students in French. I adore being able to help people of all ages explore different cultures through learning languages, gain knowledge through reading, and express themselves through writing, and as a result, I tutor French as well as English grammar, literature, composition, and writing. I am most passionate about tutoring French. Learning another language helps one think about the importance of words and about different cultures around the world. Language learning is also a continual process, and the more someone practices, the more improvement is seen. So not only am I able to help hone others' French speaking, reading, and writing, but I am also able to continue improving mine as well. I believe students learn best through repetition, encouragement, setting distinct and attainable goals, and working towards those individual goals to reach their academic dreams. Each student has a different learning style, and that style can even change from one subject to another. In my opinion, the best way to teach and tutor comes from listening to students and adapting the material to fit their needs or desires. I spend my free time creating both traditional and digital art, reading, writing blogs and stories, watching documentaries, teaching my wonderful husband French, and knitting or crocheting.
