When I toured my undergraduate college campus for the very first time, there was a little office on a hill. That tiny building turned out to be a community service office where I was determined to spend my college time working and helping others. About half way through my first year, my wish came true and my love of tutoring began. During my time at Bloomsburg University, in addition to working in that little office where I tutored students in many of the surrounding school districts, I earned my Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood and Elementary Education, with a concentration in Exceptional Individuals. My experience in tutoring paid off when I earned a position as the Assistant Coordinator for the tutoring program. Under this title, I aligned college tutors with school districts and students for after school tutoring. To further my experience, I spent several summers working as a Camp Director for our local YMCA, where I also offered tutoring to any student enrolled in the camp. For the past 14 years, I have been a 5th grade teacher. Most recently, we have departmentalized our classrooms and I became the teacher for English Language Arts and Science. During my time as an educator, I have completed my Master of Science degree in Educational Development and Strategies and am currently working on a degree in Online Education. I have four beautiful children, ages 13, 9, 3, 18 months and love spending time playing with them. We spend as much time possible camping, hiking, swimming, and anything else related to outdoors! I also love reading and gardening and, like Confucius, have a very strong belief that "It does not matter how slowly you go, as long as you do not stop."
