Hello!

My name is Michael and I believe that teaching mathematics should be about more than simply finding an answer to a math problem. I spend a lot of energy thinking about the "why" of math and enjoy teaching others to ask themselves same questions. As students, children are often taught to memorize rather than understand. I like to think of teaching math as philosophy and language just as much as teaching math itself. If we make the right connections between math and the physical world, we can produce a stronger context with which our students can access their own understanding. With the right teacher and the right tools, anyone can be fluent in math subjects.
