Hello. My name is Amelia and I am originally from England but I am now a legal, permanent resident of the USA!
I am a teacher by profession and my experience and qualifications are detailed in my resume attached.
Outside the classroom, I love to travel. My husband and I visit Mexico four times a year on mission trips to build houses for poor communities and we have also been lucky to visit Haiti twice to build a church for a remote island community in partnership with our church here in the US.
I also try to get back to France whenever possible to visit friends, maintain my fluency and refresh my vocabulary so that my teaching is accurate and up to date.
My most recent visit was to the French / Swiss Alps this spring for a family ski-trip.
Other than languages, I also enjoy keeping fit as I compete in mini triathlons so I regularly swim, follow my own HIIT fitness program and attend other fitness classes to give me new ideas! Watching sport, particularly tennis and rugby, is also one of my past-times and inspires me to keep working out.
To relax, I love to watch films, especially French cinema, learn new skills and read. I am currently reading John Irving as recommended by my husband.
