Hi and welcome! I am so glad you want to know more about me. I will obtain my M.Ed ITL from Lincoln Memorial University in May 2018. I previously obtained my B.A. in English with a concentration in Creative Writing from the University of Tennessee in August of 2000 and my A.A. from Pellissippi State in May of 1995. I graduated from Maryville High School in 1991.

I completed my student teaching at Jefferson Middle School in Oak Ridge, TN and at Claxton Elementary in Clinton, TN. The first part of the 2017-2018 school year I was a teacher assistant in the Special Education Department at Robertsville Middle School in 5th-8th grade inclusion classes. I have also led 7th & 8th grade math and reading intervention programs. Previously, I worked at Oak Ridge High School. During my 5 years there, I was a Teacher Assistant in the English and Science Dept., In-School Suspension Teacher, and Teacher Assistant in the CDC Dept. I have also been the Special Education secretary at the Oak Ridge City Schools district office.

I have 2 dogs and a cat. My dog's are named Ginger and Happy. My cat is named Tinkerbell. I like to go camping with my family and we like to eat out together. Growing up close to the mountains afforded my family the opportunity to go camping at Elkmont and Cades Cove quite often. We would also travel down to Indian Boundary to go camping, fishing and swimming. I am an avid runner and triathlete. I have ran many 5ks, 10ks, 15ks, half-marathons and sprint and Olympic distance triathlons.
