Hello, my name is Meghan Ferencik and I am thrilled to have found a position that allows me to grow as an educator and gain more experience within a tutor setting. As a 2006 graduate of Wheelock College, I have student teaching experience on the first and second grade level, as well as on the preschool level in an urban setting, and have worked with students with moderate disabilities.
Recently, I taught first grade as an aide at the Benjamin Franklin Classical Charter Public School in Franklin, MA. This position enabled me to gain experience and skills in teaching within the first grade classroom. I am always trying to be more creative, nurturing and most of all, enthusiastic about learning with each and every child in my class. I was also a Reading Aide helping the general population within our school as well as ELL students. I loved my exposure in this area; however wanted a bit more classroom experience as well.

In my graduate school training while at Wheelock College, I studied Language and Literacy studies. I have a passion for literacy in young children and strive to make a difference in every child I teach.This training allowed me to teach reading and writing in the Boston Public School system. I was able to assess children's literacy development and tutor them one-on-one after school. It was an amazing experience and I feel as though I gained vital information to further my growth as an early childhood educator. I am currently in the process of gaining my ESL licensure through the state of Massachusetts.
It is my goal to combine my range of experience with my ability to be a compassionate, enthusiastic, intelligent teacher who will make a positive contribution to your learning and success as a student.
