I received a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from the University of Missouri in Columbia, Missouri in May of 2015. My tutoring experience includes tutoring my high school aged siblings in Algebra and Pre-Algebra subjects. I also have experience tutoring middle school aged children all of which was on an informal, volunteer basis. But I find my knowledge is useful in that I am experienced in communicating and accommodating to the needs of children. I currently am tutoring in the subjects of basic mathematics, Pre-Algebra, and Algebra 1. I chose to tutor these subjects because of my experience tutoring students in these areas and I enjoy them. I find I can offer the best assistance to students currently having difficulty with this level of mathematics.
My tutoring style is based on helping students understand that they can master a subject, exam, or class with an adjustment to how they are approaching the problem. Students need confidence and understanding and these things are my primary focus. I will work with a client on an issue that is a struggle and give them an opportunity to solve their own problems after establishing an proficient level of understanding. My motto has always been, "life is a marathon, not a sprint." Sometimes it takes a little longer for students to understand concepts but that doesn't make them any less capable than any other student. SUCCESS IS THE GOAL!
My interests outside of tutoring include exercising and spending time with my Siberian Husky Sasha. She is my "doghter" and I am a proud "dog mom." She loves to be outside! I also love spending time with my family, traveling, and being positive!
