Certified Tutor

I have a Doctoral degree in Medicinal Chemistry which requires an extensive knowledge in Analytical and Organic Chemistry, Biochemistry, and other scientific fields related to the medical profession.
Initially, I was employed as an environmental chemist synthesizing isotopically labeled materials such as Polychlorobiphenyls (PCBs), Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs), Polynuclear Heterocyclics (PNHs), Dibenzofurans, Dibenzodioxanes. Analysis to support the quality of the prepared compounds was performed using analytical techniques such as NMR, HPLC (UV/VIS, MS, and electrochemical) and GC (FID, EC, and MS).
After my career as an environmental scientist, I transitioned into a role as a pharmaceutical scientist. My primary responsibility was to develop formulations to support drug product delivery in the commercial marketplace. Analytical techniques to support the quality of the preparations were similar to those indicate above.
With respect to tutoring/teaching, I started these activities during my time in graduate school. I have tutored students from 7th grade to graduate programs across my career. While working for different pharmaceutical companies, I taught in-house classes in general and organic chemistry with specific applications to the pharmaceutical needs of the company.
While my primary area of expertise is chemistry, I have tutored in the secondary education level math, physics, earth science, astronomy, etc.
