I have a degree in French Language and Literature from Williams College and am currently in a MFA in Writing program at Sarah Lawrence College. I've been speaking French for more than a decade and have lived in Dakar, Senegal and Brittany, France. In regards to my writing career, I have worked as a staff and freelance writer for publications, a copywriter for wellness and beauty brands, and a professional report writer in the education sector. As a French tutor, I get my students excited about learning by incorporating a variety of materials into my lessons from film clips to poetry; a fun way to provide context to new vocabulary and lexical items. I view drilling exercises as a necessary evil, but I aim to prepare my students for real life experiences by prioritizing meaningful communication as well as grammar. As a writing tutor, I can help with academic and professional writing as well as fiction writing (fiction is my genre concentration at Sarah Lawrence). More specifically, I assist students in clarifying their ideas, fleshing out or organizing their outlines, editing/proofreading, including primary/secondary sources, and maintaining a consistent voice that is appropriate for their audience.
