I am very happy with our experience so far with Varsity Tutors. They matched my daughter with reading specialist Mary and she is wonderful! My 10 year old daughter feels happy after her sessions and believes her tutor has already helped her.

Nathan

Certified Tutor

I'm a rising junior at Yale University majoring in biology. I'm a premedical student, and want to enter academic medicine; currently, I work as an EMT and in a biology laboratory at the medical school. I have tutored middle schoolers in math (algebra, trigonometry, geometry, etc.) for the past few summers, and have some experience tutoring biology, chemistry, and writing at school. I'm also continuously studying all of these topics at a collegiate level.

As a tutor, I try to tailor my lessons to the student; if relatable examples seem to work better, we'll emphasize those, while if detailed analysis or derivations seem to work better, we'll go all in on that. I think that's how personalized tutors are meant to function: we're here to enhance your learning by presenting the material in a way that you can understand, not by asking you to learn something the way that we did. (Also, sometimes seeing information presented in multiple ways is the easiest way to understand it!)

In my free time, I enjoy reading and hanging out with my dog (a cockapoo).
