Lindsay: Liverpool tutor
Certified Tutor
I originally hail from Chicago, IL, but I am currently a MD Candidate at the Medical College of Wisconsin. My previous academic achievements include a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Howard University followed by a Master of Science degree in Medical Physiology from Case Western Reserve University.
Throughout my undergraduate and postgraduate career, I set aside time to teach as well as tutor basic biology, ecology, chemistry, math, reading and writing to students ranging from kindergarteners to high schoolers.
As a tutor, I make sure my sessions are something the student will look forward to by trying to relate to each individual student on a personal level to ensure they feel comfortable asking questions if and when they may not understand a concept. I know how one can feel discouraged from their studies, but with the right preparation, study tools, and tutor, it can be enjoyable.Any concept I teach, I make sure to relate them to real life scenarios in a way that the student could understand and appreciate because learning and studying resonate well with any student when relatable in a familiar fashion.
A typical introductory session with a student includes learning what type of learner the student is and their current methods for studying. I like to see what works for the student and what doesn't and how I can help improve those areas. My goal, as a tutor, is to encourage and equip students with the necessary tools to be successful so that one day they can pay it forward.
Outside of work and studies, I like to dance, hang out with friends, surf pinterest and do DIY projects.
I look forward to working with you!
