I did my B.S at North Carolina State University in Raleigh, NC. There, I was a research assistant in Plant Pathology for four years before moving to Cambridge, MA to work as a research associate at the Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard, where I have been working for two years with a group that studies functional genomics and cancer. This fall I will start a PhD program in Molecular and Cellular Biology at the University of Connecticut. In high school, I tutored English, and worked at the Museum of Natural Science in Raleigh for two years in college. At the museum, I taught basic Plant Biology, Cell Biology, and Microbiology. These are some of my favorite things to tutor. As a visual learner, my tutoring style tends to include a lot of drawings, charts, graphs, videos, anything that helps visualize and comprehend the information. That being said, everyone has a different learning style, and I am committed to being flexible and figuring out what works best for the student. Outside of academia, I love to play violin, read fantasy and science fiction novels, and spend time outside!
