Emma: Duluth tutor
Certified Tutor
I have over seven years of experience tutoring and teaching students and young people both in the classroom and one-on-one. I love helping learners reach their goals and discover new things. In every tutoring session, I strive to promote an engaging and supportive environment. I also create an individualised plan for each student to best develop their skills.
After high school, I attended the University of Edinburgh and completed a degree in English Literature. After that I spent two years teaching English in an inner-city London school, before returning to my childhood hometown in Austin to be closer to my family.
Of course, I love reading. My favourite authors are Kurt Vonnegut and Haruki Murakami. Check them out if you haven't yet! I also enjoy hiking, quality TV and playing with my dog.

What is your teaching philosophy?
Students are most successful when they feel in control of their learning. By using creative tools, beyond just test after test, and incorporating their interests into each session, students can make the most progress.
