What is your teaching philosophy?
My teaching philosophy is giving students the edge they need to successfully compete in today's economy. I believe in giving them as much exposure to all the possibilities of career strategies they can best use for their advantage.
What might you do in a typical first session with a student?
I would first introduce myself to the student and parents. I would like to learn about the student's wishes, concerns and hobbies, and what would he like to read or learn about, and then incorporate that into lesson plans.
How can you help a student become an independent learner?
By helping him to question a statement or activity he reads about. Why is that person making a specific statement? Why is he doing this now? How does the person justify their position in a writing? I want the student to connect timing with critical analysis of a text.
