What is your teaching philosophy?
Every student can learn! It's about finding the right way to connect and make information "sticky" for each student.
What might you do in a typical first session with a student?
I would start with a preliminary test to see what areas the student is strong, and where they may be weak. That way, we can structure a study plan that makes sense and focuses on turning those weaknesses into strengths.
How would you help a student stay motivated?
The best way is to remind students about what their goals were to begin with, and reminding them how far they have come! Improvement always takes (some) time, but all of that effort really does count!
