I am a recent college graduate with a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education. I had two full time student teaching experiences as well as many other experiences working in classrooms. I have experience tutoring in elementary school reading as well as at the college level for students taking biology. All of these experiences have taught me effective, valuable tutoring strategies.
I have a passion for learning and teaching which makes a career working with students something I am very excited about. In addition to education, some of my other passions include running, reading, softball and volunteering!

What is your teaching philosophy?
I believe that students learn best when they are held to a high standard; however, they also need appropriate support, guidance and resources to be successful. It is the job of a teacher to empower students to be active participants in their own learning and provide them with the means to be successful.
What might you do in a typical first session with a student?
In the first session I would get to know the student. I would learn their interests both in and outside of school. I would set goals with the student for what they want to achieve from tutoring, and what I can do to help them.
