Becca: Cambridge tutor
Certified Tutor
I am a 2015 graduate of Villanova University from which I received my Bachelor of Science in Comprehensive Science. My first three years out of college has been spent teaching high school chemistry, which I have loved immensely. I've been tutoring since high school and believe that education is the foundation for success. The subjects that I tutor are math, pre-algebra, algebra I and algebra II. I love math and do a great job of making it enjoyable for those that I tutor. In my spare time, I enjoy hiking, playing tennis, running, yoga, and reading. Really if it's something outdoors then I'll be there!

What is your teaching philosophy?
My philosophy of teaching evolved from my years of teaching experience. As I reflect on my beliefs regarding teaching and learning, I find that my mission as a teacher is threefold: to promote positive learning; to spark learner enthusiasm for learning; and to provide a strong foundation for lifelong learning.
What might you do in a typical first session with a student?
A typical first session involves getting to know the student as a person, as well as figuring out the academic strengths and weaknesses of the student. I also find it helpful to figure out the student's learning style. That way, I can teach to the student's strengths.
