What is your teaching philosophy?

I consistently try to encourage students to critically analyze the connections between their daily practices and the uneven political, economic, and environmental issues that underpin them. I see teaching and learning as processes that require the ability to trace paths of correspondence between seemingly disparate ideas and places. There is no easy way to define or simply memorize these connections.
