Hello future/current French speaker :)
I am Stéphanie, I arrived in Boston last summer to follow my husband who is working here. We are both from Belgium and my mother tongue is French.
I love meeting new people and especially French students. French is such a beautiful language in the mouth of foreigners who want to learn it. I love French and I discover that it was really a pleasure for me to teach this language. I really have fun while doing it and expect the learners to have fun as well.
Whatever your age and your French level, we can work together in order to achieve your goals (learning from start, improving your level, going on holiday to France, etc.). I will be delighted to work with you on your new French challenge.
Everytime I give a French lesson, I prepare it and try to make it as fun as possible through games, stories, etc. and I focus on what you like.
I am really eager to meet new people and work together in other to achieve their French related goal :)

What is your teaching philosophy?
Focus on my student's goals and have fun while teaching.
What might you do in a typical first session with a student?
Learn his hobbies, what he likes and what are his goals.
How can you help a student become an independent learner?
Teach him the basics so that he can learn by himself through some readings, etc.
How would you help a student stay motivated?
I would show him his improvements.
If a student has difficulty learning a skill or concept, what would you do?
Take everything from the start; main rules, exceptions and give tips to remember everything.
How do you help students who are struggling with reading comprehension?
Practice, give tips and advice while reading.
What strategies have you found to be most successful when you start to work with a student?
Focus on what he likes and his hobbies.
How would you help a student get excited/engaged with a subject that they are struggling in?
Trying to find the fun in it.
