Andretta

Certified Tutor

I'm an honest and hardworking professional who loves working with students to bring out their full potential. I'm committed to helping students bring out the power of their voice through studying and comprehension.

Currently, I hold a Bachelors and Masters in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting. I have always loved working with math and numbers. I would not exchange it for any other subject in the world. Everything that we touch, see and feel has a relationship with numbers and we can master the concept of math through this idea.

My job is to make you the most amazing student you can be. First, we will focus on the student as a whole. We will address content and issue with the subject that you are having issues with. Through back and forth communication and feedback, I will help you sharpen and hone the skills needed to master the subject you are studying.

I love what I do, and I am outstanding at it.

What might you do in a typical first session with a student?

In a first session with a student, I like to get to know the student and their interests.

How can you help a student become an independent learner?

A student can become an independent learner by reading, researching, and finding answers to their questions from reliable sources.

How would you help a student stay motivated?

I would help the student stay motivated by keeping the sessions fun and exciting.

If a student has difficulty learning a skill or concept, what would you do?

I a student has difficulty learning a skill or concept, I would give the student examples that relate to something they are interested in.

How do you help students who are struggling with reading comprehension?

I would help students who are struggling with reading comprehension by suggesting the student reads the material several times and write down words that they do not understand. Once they write down these words, the students need to look up the meaning and figure out how it applies to what he/she is reading.

What strategies have you found to be most successful when you start to work with a student?

The strategies that I found are successful when I start working with a student are getting to know the student and finding out the root cause of the issue.
