In addition, I have trained teachers in African countries such as Mali, Togo, Ghana, Burkina Faso, and Senegal. For almost two years I lead the home-based childcare program at the International Institute of Saint Louis.
I am fluent in fluent in Wolof, French, and English. I have a lot of experience when it comes to teaching French from teaching and training teachers to establishing a French elementary school in Senegal.
My conception of teaching isn't the transfer of knowledge from teacher to student, but rather a teacher facilitating the student's gain of knowledge based on the student's environment and needs, while using appropriate and specific methods.

What might you do in a typical first session with a student?
During a first session, I would start with a conversation with my student. We could introduce ourselves, determine the student's level in French. Then, we'd talk about the student's goals before we set up a study plan.
How can you help a student become an independent learner?
As facilitator, I will have to set up with my student a learning plan based on these concepts: -Motivation -Responsibility -Focus -Evaluation
How would you help a student stay motivated?
I will help my student consider how necessary the need is to manage: -The time. -The content of lessons based on the student level. -Positive and confident attitude. - Value and reward system for progress.
