After graduating from Scripps College with a degree in studio art and politics in 2010, I accepted a year long assignment with International Rescue Committee in South Sudan, where I met amazing field doctors and fell in love with medicine. When I returned to the United States I began a rigorous one-year post baccalaureate premedical program at Bennington College in Vermont. This was an incredibly challenging experience, in which I not only learned physics, chemistry and biology, but I also learned to be strategic with my time, and get the most out of my classes and homework. Upon completing the premedical program with flying colors I took the MCAT in mid July 2015. As someone who struggled with math and science in high school, but excelled in these same areas with the application of organization and effort, I feel confident in my ability to guide other students through a similar process.

In terms of teaching experience, I taught ESL at a high school in Thailand, I co-taught Environmental Education to middle school students in Cameroon (in French), and I also tutored middle school students in math and Spanish while I was in high school. I have spent the past year in study groups with my peers, and feel very comfortable explaining complex concepts step by step to students of all ages.
