The SAT and ACT are very prevalent tests today that help colleges determine what students are the best fit for them. Testing a wide variety of skills, these exams can be a daunting task to take on. I believe test prep is a valuable tool that can greatly improve a student's score. I personally took both the SAT and ACT in high school as well as three SAT subject tests. I took various different prep courses to prepare and along the way learned so many different tips and tricks that stuck with me. My tutors helped me improve my score beyond my expectations, and I hope to do the same for my students.
Since I have been on the other side of the picture, I know what worked best for me and hope to incorporate those techniques in my own practice. I love teaching and the feeling it gives both me and my student to see improvement. Practice is key in improvement, and I will make sure to provide ample opportunity for my students to do so. I hope that my passion for teaching will rub off on my students and make them excited to learn!
I graduated from the University of Michigan this year with a B.S. in biopsychology, cognition, and neuroscience. Thus, I have plenty of experience in Psychology as well. I quickly realized in high school that psychology was my favorite subject, so I was quick to choose my major when I started college. I could not have made a better choice, and I aspire to spread that enthusiasm for such an interesting subject to my students.
Overall, I believe that my extensive experience with both test prep and psychology as well as my dedication to helping my students will be a great asset in any student's belt when they take on future tests!
