Certified Tutor

I hold a Bachelor’s of Arts in Economics and International Studies from Macalester College. I am currently interning at the United Nations Economics Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean in downtown DC.

I have vast experience working one-on-one with students to help them achieve their academic goals. I was a teaching assistant for a college course on Statistical Modeling, helping peers comprehend the fundamentals of statistics. In high school, I launched a French language club where I taught French for beginners. I also volunteered my time tutoring minority students aged 5 to 14 at the public library near where I attended college. These experiences have shaped my teaching philosophy; I believe that what most students lack is someone to believe in them; someone to build their confidence and help them take learning into their own hands. Therefore, I assess each student’s needs and learning techniques, so as to tailor my teaching style to help them gain the most out of the tutoring experience.

I tutor French, Economics, Math, Statistics, IB Economics and IB Math SL. My favorite subjects to tutor are French and Economics. As a native French speaker, it is always very rewarding seeing students make progress and enjoy learning the language When it comes to economics, I love to make the subject more accessible for students, free of unnecessary jargons.

During my free time, I enjoy good conversations, cooking, and some capoeira. I am passionate about learning, especially languages. I am fluent in English, French, Spanish, Wolof and have a basic understanding of Arabic and Norwegian.
