Helping others learn has always been a passion of mine. I have been working with students for over fifteen years in an elementary school setting. I graduated from Duquesne University with a dual degree in Elementary and Special Education and continued on to Loyola University to receive a Masters Degree in Elem/Middle Special Education. I believe every student I work with has their own individual strengths and talents and has the potential to excel in their own capacity. It is my job to make sure I am giving them the tools and teaching them the strategies they need to reach that potential. There is nothing more exciting then when a student I have been working with learns something new for the first time. I love to work with students in the areas of reading, as reading is something I enjoy. I want to share my love and enthusiasm of reading with young minds. I also enjoy working with students in the area of Math. I believe learning should be fun and hands on. I strive to make sure that the lessons and activities I create for the students I work with are aligned to their own personal learning profiles. I am a very reflective and data driven teacher as I believe these two components are important in helping a student progress in their academic careers.
