As someone with a lifelong love of reading, I take great satisfaction in encouraging and engendering this love in others--especially young people. A proficient reader can explore the world, meet fascinating people, learn amazing things--all by opening a book. Beyond this, it is important to become competent in using language properly--having a good grasp of grammar, word usage, punctuation, spelling, and vocabulary. I can draw on my experience as a teacher and writer to help students master these skills. In addition, with 17 years of experience as an editor for the Texas STAAR/TAAS tests, specializing in Composition, Language Arts, and Writing, I can offer students useful strategies for achieving success in many test-taking situations. Above all, I believe that learning should be fun!
