I am a senior at the University of Houston. I am majoring in physics and minoring in math with the intent to apply these to the field of medical physics. On my academic journey, I have spent many hours tutoring, and being tutored by my fellow students, in an effort to understand, as well as be able to explain the material. This I believe, allows me to understand both sides of the coin, having the perspective of the student, as well as mentor enables me to be a better teacher. I have worked with students of varying ages, backgrounds, and subject areas, to help them understand what they are doing and how it will be applicable to them in the future. Connecting it to something they find interesting helps to make the learning process more enjoyable and interesting for both the student and myself, and being able to share the feeling of understanding is a success for me. My spare time is consumed with soccer, reading, and chess.
