Certified Tutor

I am a friendly, passionate and patient tutor who loves to learn while I teach. For four years, I worked as a college level writing tutor, assisting my peers with essays about any and every subject, from anthropology to biology. In college, I studied Philosophy and English Literature, which sharpened my skills in logic and close reading. As a tutor, I believe in engaged learning. My sessions aren't silent reading and memorizing; we will talk about everything and have fun doing so!

I believe that every student can improve and learn more, whatever their skill level or age. My goal is to make learning fun for my tutees. I don't want tutoring sessions to be something they dread; I want them to look forward to our time together! From my past experience, I have noticed that tutees tend to become more engaged with their topic once they study something that interests them. Whether their interest is Greek mythology or baseball, I will find something to engage my students with, and I will encourage them to find more topics of interest.

I want my students to succeed, and I know they want to succeed, too. With a little push and a lot of passion, I will bring each tutoring session to life!
