Certified Tutor

I am a graduate student in the U. of Arizona Geosciences Department finishing a Master's Degree in Geophysics. I received a BS in Astrophysics at New Mexico Tech (2001) and worked at the National Solar Observatory in Tucson for several years before pursuing graduate studies.

As a graduate student teaching assistant, I have worked extensively in the classroom. My experience ranges from delivering lectures and helping students understand important scientific concepts to working with students on a one-on-one basis.

Many of the students I have worked with are non-science majors and finding a way to explain difficult scientific concepts to individual students is something I find rewarding. I have helped students who were anxious about scientific concepts and mathematics become comfortable with these concepts, and I have helped outstanding students to achieve their goals in the classroom.

When I'm not working on my own studies, I enjoy hobbies ranging from sewing to geocaching. I enjoy being outdoors and I especially love learning about the world and passing what I've learned on to others.
